Business Support & Entrepreneurship

Business Retention & Expansion

On average, 80% of new jobs and capital investment come from companies that already exist in a community. That’s why Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) is essential to Gallia County. We visit local companies for candid conversations regarding the opportunities and challenges that exist operating a business in Gallia County. As a result, we’re able to provide assistance to help solve business challenges, improve the local business climate, and connect businesses to available resources to catalyze their growth.

We aim to complete at least one BRE visit per year with major local employers and companies in JobsOhio’s target sectors, which include advanced manufacturing, aerospace & aviation, automotive, advanced mobility, energy & chemicals, financial services, food & agribusiness, healthcare, logistics & distribution, military & federal, and technology.

Entrepreneurship is in our DNA

The late Bob Evans started his restaurant chain right here in Gallia County, and continued investing long after his “down on the farm” jingle went mainstream.

Today, Gallia County entrepreneurs carry on in that legacy, growing their businesses and supporting the local economy. Gallia County Economic Development has…

  • Resources to help entrepreneurs make their next major investment
  • Contacts with low-interest loan and gap financing loan programs
  • Knowledge of tax incentive programs that can help your business save money
  • Partnerships with local entrepreneurship support organizations to help new entrepreneurs build a strong foundation for growth
