The Gallia County Commissioners presented a proclamation Thursday morning to Melissa Clark, Gallia County Economic Development Director, recognizing May 7-12, 2018 as ‘National Economic Development Week’ in Gallia County.

The Commissioners affirmed their commitment to foster a business-friendly climate that will attract and retain employers, preserve existing jobs in our community, and generate new opportunities.
Gallia County Economic Development assists with the needs of the business community through services such as business and job retention efforts, site location assistance, business development, infrastructure development and workforce development.
Mrs. Clark thanked the Board of Commissioners for their ongoing support of economic development while noting the strong partnerships and shared goals with Workforce Development and Community Development in Gallia County.
National Economic Development Week was created by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) in order to increase awareness of local programs that create jobs, advance career development opportunities and increase the quality of life. The IEDC is the largest professional economic development organization dedicated to serving economic developers.
